Q: What is artificial intelligence?

A: Artificial intelligence is a technology that perceives, learns, reasons, assists in decision making, and takes action to help resolve our problems. Simply put, artificial intelligence refers to the capability of computers to learn from human intelligence to accomplish tasks, learn to deal with different situations through contextual participation, and then develop ways to respond to them, as well as analyze different situations to adjust and optimizations on their own.

 

Q: What is the main research focus of the AI Center?

A: The Center is mainly dedicated to the research and development of Industrial Artificial Intelligence (IAI), with emphasis on the combination of field expertise (X) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to solve practical problems in the industry through industry-academia cooperation (Co-Op), and to nurture AI+X talents for the industry.

 

Q: What is industrial artificial intelligence?

A: Industrial artificial intelligence refers to the application of artificial intelligence technology in the industrial field to improve production efficiency, quality, safety and reliability. For example, artificial intelligence may be employed to analyze large amounts of production data to help companies optimize production processes and predict equipment failures. In addition, AI technology can be utilized to automate certain tasks on the production line, such as quality control and logistics management.

 

Q: Does the AI Center provide training or education courses related to artificial intelligence?

A: The Center offers artificial intelligence-related courses for our faculty, staff and students occasionally each year, such as VisLab Seed Teacher Training, Orange Visual Data Analysis and Modeling, and Comprehensive Data Science Academy.

 

Q: I am not a member of the staff of the university, does the AI Center offer AI-related training or education courses that are open to the public?

A: The Center offers customized courses to meet the needs of companies, please contact us by email for more information.

 

Q: What resources does the AI Center provide to support AI research?

A: Currently, the AI Center provides mainly computing equipment, professional engineers and computer labs for research and experiments.

 

Q: How can I apply for the support of AI Center for my industry-academia cooperation project? Is there a fee?

A: Please refer to the "Service Management Regulations of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (A0N0030001)" for fees. To apply, please submit the completed "Application Form for the Service Commissioning of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at MCUT" to our technician.

 

Q: I am a faculty member, and I need support from the AI Center for a non-industry cooperation case, how do I apply? Is there a fee?

A: Presently, the AI Center only offers space rental service for faculty members. Please confirm the desired booking time on the AI Center website,  complete the "AI Center Space and Equipment Loan Application Form," and apply via the Center technician.

 

Q: I am a student, how can I apply for support from the AI Center for my research project?

A: We recommend that you contact the faculty members in your field listed on the AI Center website and work with your advisor.

 

Q: We are a corporation, how could we establish cooperation with the AI Center for industrial research?
